Women, Inc. (NCNW) was founded in 1935 by Mary McLeod Bethune as a
national organization of organizations. As a voluntary
not-for-profit membership organization, NCNW works to improve the
quality of life for women, girls, families and communities across
the United States and in African countries. Through 38 National Affiliates, 250 community-based Chartered Sections and participating individuals, NCNW has an outreach to 4,000,000 women. NCNW's international regional offices are in Egypt and Senegal. It has Consultative Status at the United Nations.
